Fill’r up for Winter - Quick Tip for Keeping your Suburu in Top Performance During the Winter Months

Do you ever let your gas tank run on fumes until the very last possible moment, only to fill it up with about $10 worth of gas?

We have all done it - and while it’s not necessarily a great idea at any time of the year, it’s a very bad idea during the cold winter months.

Why? Cold and constantly shifting temperatures can cause condensation to form on on the walls of a gas tank that can drip down into the gas. Water is heavier than gas - so water will sink to the bottom of your tank and make it’s way quickly into your fuel lines where it will freeze up and block the flow of gas to the engine. The result: you’re going nowhere fast. Technically, you’re not going anywhere at all.

Quick Tip: Find a well-priced gas station in your area that is on your route to work, school, or some other place you are sure to drive by at least once a week. Stop and fill up completely. You’ll save your gas tank, and you’ll save money by capitalizing on the best gas prices at one time.
